The sixth annual Crazy Jane Composers’ concert of new chamber, vocal, electronic and dance music lights up Lincoln Recital Hall at Portland State University on Friday Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Seven “Crazy Janes,” women composers from the Portland-metro area, will present their dynamic musical visions under the lights.

Dramatic works including modern dance, piano duets and songs, sultry tangueros, feverishly whispering musicians, an electrified harpsichord, stories from Rudyard Kipling, electro-acoustic sounds of the brain’s workings and a dazzling live visual display of musical waveforms create a riveting program!

A rich collection of some of Portland’s best performers including Dianne Davies, Maria Choban, Colleen Adent and Jeff Payne, piano; Jennifer Wright, amplified harpsichord; Tatiana Kolchanova and Erin Furbee, violin; Katherine Schultz, cello; Joel Bluestone, percussion; Alex Krebs, bandoneon; Adam Young, baritone; Matt Burnett, narration; and dancers Dominic Bridge, Rebekah Mitchell, Melissa St. Clair and Jonalyn Salzano bring together striking music, dance, improvisational movement and narration in one unforgettably colorful evening.

“Crazy Jane in Technicolor” is modern art music like you’ve never SEEN it before! This concert is cosponsored by Elizabeth and Robert Dyson with additional support provided by Portland State University.

Purchase tickets at www.crazyjaneintechnicolor.brownpapertickets.com: $20 general, $10 seniors/Cascadia members; $5 students (with valid ID); under 12 free.
