Mei-ling Lee — Data-driven instruments
November 6, 2021 @ 4:00 pm

“I can’t believe that it’s been a year since my last recital, which had to be fully online due to Covid. I’m grateful to be able to offer my recital both in-person (masks required) as well as online (masks optional). 🙂
The recital program is about an hour long, covering four new compositions that I composed during the past year. A variety of data-driven instruments will be used in the concert, including iPhone, iPad, Leap Motion, Roli Seaboard, a 19th century telegraph sounder, and a computer keyboard. The compositions touch on a wide range of themes and experiences, from the potential for deceit via text messaging, to my personal experience of family loss, to a reflection on human existence in the massive “dataverse” that the 21st century is enveloping us in.”
This is a concert by a Cascadia Composers member, rather than a Cascadia-sponsored/produced concert.
“I really hope you’ll be able to join in with me for this important milestone in my creative work.
Most Cordially,
Mei-ling”
