November 8 presentation originally planned has been changed, and the replacement presentation will be available on Cascadia YouTube. The replacement is as follows:

Presentation and comparison of two compositions that are cultural portrayals: Tone Portrait of Poland (a commission in celebration of the Polish Centenary), and She Who Watches, the Legend of Tsagaglalal, Tribute to Chinook (composed for the Cascadia Composers concert: “Our Waters: Big River to the Pacific, in Honor of Our Waters’ Defenders”).

Liz’s compositions are descriptive Tone Portraits, Instrumental or verbal, weaving a story, a visual impression, a mood, or a musical narration of a literary work into musical interpretation — using genres and styles of music particular to the subject of the Portrait, many times usingethnic scales and styles of presentation. Her pieces are based on detailed research as she endeavors to portray accurate interpretation.
