Presentation by Dr. Walter Saul — “Quiltings”

June 13 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free
Walter Saul

Dr. Walter Saul presented his DVD on his composition: Quiltings. “Quiltings is based on the stunning fiber art of my sister-in-law Ann Harwell, one of the South’s 100 most renowned artists. These are truly paintings merely using quilting as their medium. There are 118 quilts portrayed in this work, which is modeled on Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky. Virtually all the classical forms of music, including fugue and sonata allegro forms, are included in this suite, which is a voyage from earth through space into heaven.”

Note: After the introduction, you may want to skip ahead to 18:45 to avoid technical troubleshooting.
